We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer II to design, build, and operate large-scale distributed systems and services for an enterprise SaaS organization. In this role, you will help shape resilient, AI-native software delivery practices while building high-availability services that support modern cloud platforms and customer-facing product experiences.
The Platform and Integrations team is building the core services that provide foundational support to the entire Seismic Platform. With autonomy and ownership, you will apply an AI-first development philosophy, cloud-native architectures, and leading-edge technologies to build and maintain features critical to the user experience.
Extensive experience designing and operating enterprise-grade SaaS systems, distributed services, and cloud operational infrastructure for scalability, reliability, security, and high availability.
7+ years of experience with C# and .NET, or another major object-oriented programming language, and web services.
3+ years of experience with PostgreSQL or major RDBMS, including performance tuning, maintenance, schema design, and operational best practices.
Proficiency with Test-Driven Development (TDD), Domain-Driven Design (DDD), API testing, and modern engineering quality practices.
Experience with event-driven architectures using technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ, and in-memory data stores such as Redis.
Hands-on experience with container technologies and cloud-native platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes, Istio, etcd, and service mesh architectures.
Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure, including deploying and operating containerized workloads on Kubernetes in production.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and tools such as Terraform or Pulumi.
Experience mentoring engineers, leading design reviews, and influencing technical direction across teams.
Proven ability to collaborate effectively with product, design, engineering, and globally distributed teams.
Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, preferably in a SaaS or technology-driven company.
Experience with AI-native development tools and platforms such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, Agentforce, or similar tools.
Hands-on experience with LLMs, RAG, model integration patterns, AI-assisted workflows, or intelligent product features.
Experience with observability, analytics, automation, or data platforms such as New Relic, Snowflake, Ansible, or Python.
Experience with major CRM ecosystems such as Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
This role is an opportunity to help build the next generation of enterprise SaaS systems in an AI-native engineering environment. You will have meaningful impact on platform architecture, developer productivity, service reliability, and the intelligent capabilities that power customer-facing products while growing with a collaborative team that values ownership, innovation, and technical excellence.
Design, develop, and operate enterprise-grade distributed systems and services that are scalable, reliable, secure, and highly available.
Own end-to-end technical design for key services and subsystems, evaluate architectural trade-offs, and drive implementation decisions across backend services, cloud infrastructure, and data platforms.
Build and maintain production services using C#/.NET or other major object-oriented programming languages, web services, and modern API patterns.
Apply AI-native development practices — including LLM-assisted development, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and agentic workflows — to accelerate delivery and build intelligent product capabilities.
Collaborate closely with product management, design, and distributed engineering teams to translate business needs into technical solutions from concept through launch.
Improve engineering quality through Test-Driven Development (TDD), Domain-Driven Design (DDD), automated testing, observability, and operational excellence.
Identify and drive improvements to system reliability, performance, scalability, and developer experience across the platform.
Participate in on-call support rotations and incident response to ensure service reliability, availability, and timely resolution of production issues.
Mentor engineers, participate in design and code reviews, and help raise the technical bar across globally distributed teams.
