Overview

Seismic is seeking an experienced and passionate Manager of Quality Engineering to lead a distributed team of high-performing Quality Assurance (QA) and Test Automation (QE) engineers. This role is critical in promoting a quality-first mindset across our global engineering organization. 

 

You will be responsible for defining and executing the overall quality strategy, ensuring our products meet the highest standards from development through production. This position has broad visibility and direct collaboration with key stakeholders including Executives, VPs, and Directors of Engineering, Product Management, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and Customer Support. 

Who you are:

 

  • 8+ years of experience in Quality, 5+ years of experience in Test Automation of enterprise software products 
  • 2+ years of leadership experience, including managing global teams  
  • Strong familiarity with SaaS Software development cycle 
  • Strong familiarity with cloud technology: Docker, AWS/GCP/Azure, experience with coding in C# and Python preferred 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technology field minimum; Master's degree preferred 
  • Experience managing automated testing, performance, load and stress testing, SaaS production monitoring, production incident response and debugging 
  • Strong ability to handle a heavy workload with multiple projects and frequent interruptions 
  • Strong ability to work in a changing, dynamic environment 

 

What you'll be doing:

  • The planning, development, and direction of software quality assurance policies, processes, programs, and initiatives in the full SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) 
  • The overall work for automating the quality aspect of Seismic software development, including test automation framework, performance and load testing, UAT, API and Component level automation, automated production monitoring, pre-release and post-release test automation and verification, and deployment and multiple region test automation 
  • The monitoring and evaluation of our software production process, and the quality of the resulting products to improve existing modes of operation 
  • Staying on top of production quality, and providing effective and timely communication regarding customer reported issues by collaborating with other key stake holders in Engineering, DevOps & SRE, Customer Success, Customer Support and Product Management. 
  • The hiring, onboarding, and training of new QA engineers and leaders who will handle the manual and automated testing 
  • Orchestrate data quality frameworks and security test automation projects 
  • Working closely with product management and dev teams to define sound test strategies, influence architecture, design deliverables and optimize capacity across the globally distributed QA organization 
  • The development, implementation, enhancement, and maintenance of our quality standards, tools, training, and methods 
  • Efficiently driving product quality and promoting leading industry best practices meeting QA department goals and objectives 
  • Develop and manage QA metrics for performance improvement of all teams, own quality dashboard for key stake holders and the whole R & D group
